The mission of The Note-Ables is to raise awareness that creativity knows no bounds, by providing inclusive musical experiences to all members of the community - regardless of age or ability.

The Note-Ables is a unique performing arts organization with a primary focus of providing musical opportunities for youth and adults with disabilities. Our organization affords people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to express themselves through music. All of our programs are grounded in the philosophy that participating in music - expressing oneself through making sound - is both DSC00199.JPGliberating and empowering for those who traditionally have had no voice in our society.

The Note-Ables is also a talented performing group made up of adults with disabilities. The group got together in April 1999. They started jamming and writing their own songs and, by the summer of 1999, they had started playing small gigs in Reno. What started out as a small performing group made up of people with disabilities has grown into a vibrant arts organization. The group’s activities have also increased the visibility of people with disabilities and added to the dynamic arts offerings in the Truckee Meadows.

With a blend of cover and original songs, the musical style of The Note-Ables ranges from blues to country to jazz to classic rock. The group has played at venues throughout northern Nevada, and can be seen TheNote-Ables2008FrancineBurgePhotos006.jpgregularly at Harrah’s Reno, the Atlantis Casino Resort, the El Dorado Casino, and at the University of

Nevada, Reno.

The Note-Ables have released two CDs of original music - On the Rise (2004) and Ain't Going Back (2009).  For more information on The Note-Ables please visit their website:
